Ghanaian dancehall superstar Shatta Wale has once again demonstrated his deep commitment to national pride and local football by performing entirely free of charge at the 2025 President’s Cup, held on Sunday, July 6, at the Accra Sports Stadium.
In a press statement issued by the Ministry of Sports and Recreation, the Ministry revealed that not only did Shatta Wale deliver the electrifying halftime performance at no cost, but he also bore the full expenses associated with the show.
These included costs for his dancers, stage design, rehearsals, wardrobe, and overall production.
“True to his promise to deliver an experience that extended beyond football, the Minister engaged Shatta Wale, who not only agreed to perform pro bono but personally covered all costs related to his performance,” the statement read.
Shatta Wale himself has since confirmed the news in a post on social media, where he wrote:
“Let’s bring the love of football back, and Shaxi fully sponsored my performance.”
Shaxi is Shatta Wale’s ride-hailing company, which he used as a vehicle for sponsorship on the day.
The announcement comes amid national praise for what has been described as a record-breaking President’s Cup.
The event, which commemorates Ghana’s sitting President, saw the Accra Sports Stadium filled, marking a major win for domestic football and fan engagement.
