Ghanaian actor, James Gardiner, has weighed in on a subject that often sparks debate, dating older women.
His candid remarks during an interview with Nollywire, posted on Instagram, quickly stirred reactions online.
Gardiner explained that age, to him, is not a barrier when it comes to relationships. What truly matters is whether he and the woman share a meaningful connection.
“It depends… There is this picture we try to give women who are like that. If the person thinks the criteria for who I am looking for, I am not all about looks, by the way. But at least it shouldn’t be like I am with my mother.
“I don’t really mind if there is a connection. Age isn’t just a number… It is more about the connection. Once there is a strong connection, I don’t think every other thing matters,” he stated.

Despite his openness, Gardiner stressed that his statement should not be mistaken for an interest in financially motivated relationships.
“I don’t like sugar mommies, ooh,” he clarified.
