EOCO has confirmed the detention and bail conditions of award award-winning Ghanaian musician who performs under the stage name Shatta Wale.
In a statement signed by its Acting Executive Director, Raymond Archer, EOCO revealed that Shatta Wale was detained to assist in an ongoing investigation concerning his Yellow Lamborghini Urus.
The agency explained that the vehicle had been linked to the criminal proceeds of Nana Kwabena Amuah, who is serving an 86-month sentence in the United States for financial crimes.
EOCO said the FBI and the Justice Department were expected to formally request the return of the vehicle to the US as part of a $4.7 million restitution order against Amuah.
The anti-fraud organization also revealed in its press statement that it has granted the musician a bail of GHS 10 million plus two sureties which he’s yet to provide
