This follows a new directive from the La State Council cautioning against funeral-related activities within the La Traditional Area due to the ongoing ban on noisemaking and funeral events, which remains in effect until Friday, 5th September 2025.
The La State Council in a press statement expressed its condolences to the family, friends, and the entire nation on the loss of Daddy Lumba but insisted that no funeral activities could be held within the La jurisdiction during the sacred period.
The change of venue to Independence Square is therefore to allow fans, loved ones, and the general public to pay their respects to the late music icon without contravening the traditional ban in place.
