Social media user Benjamin Kojo Mensah, popularly known as Goshers, has finally apologized to Star Oil after the company demanded GHS 20 million in damages for defamation over a Facebook post he made last week.
Star Oil, through its lawyers Lex Vanem & Associates, had earlier issued a final demand notice after an initial deadline expired without compliance.
The company described Goshers’ September 3, 2025, post which alleged he had been cheated at the Anyinase station near Elubo as defamatory, unfounded, and malicious.
In the viral post, Goshers wrote, “I feel cheated by Star Oil this morning,” attaching a crying emoji and a video.
However, in a new video shared on his Facebook wall on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, Goshers publicly apologized to the company.
He explained that he did not intend for the matter to escalate to such a level, especially after a company representative called him and he agreed to take the video down.
According to him, the delay in removing the video was due to poor internet access while traveling on his bike to Sierra Leone.
He added that after he finally got to Sierra Leone today and got stable Internet, he saw all the tags and then he decided to offer an unreserved apology to the company.
He also admitted that his earlier statement claiming he had been cheated was made out of ignorance. He acknowledged that after the company clarified the issue, he understood the matter differently.
