Following the Kumasi High Court’s dismissal of Akosua Serwaa Fosuh’s lawsuit and its ruling that both she and Odo Broni qualify as surviving spouses of the late Daddy Lumba, Papa Shee has come out again to strongly insist that the widely publicised funeral date of December 13, 2025, will still never take place.
Shortly after the ruling, Papa Shee was captured speaking to some media men and bloggers while he made his way to his car.

In the chat with these people, he first addressed the court’s comments regarding the marriage documents from Germany.
He stressed that no one receives fake documents from the German Embassy, dismissing the suggestion implied in the court’s decision about the marriage between Lumba and Akosua Serwaa Fosuh.
Papa Shee further disclosed that the family intends to appeal the ruling, as they believe critical issues remain unresolved.
According to him also, the funeral cannot be held on the announced December 13 date because several important matters need clarification before the late musician can be buried.
He revealed that Daddy Lumba’s family, comprising his uncle, Wofa Poku, his sister Ernestina Fosuh, and some of his children, have collectively agreed that the funeral will instead be held on March 14, 2025.
He explained that this new date aligns with ongoing processes, including completing the musician’s autopsy and allowing his children to finish writing their examinations so they can fully participate in the funeral rites.
Meanwhile, the court’s ruling earlier in the day affirmed both Akosua Serwaa and Odo Broni as legitimate surviving spouses. The court also directed Abusuapanin Kofi Owusu to ensure that neither woman is excluded from the widowhood rites and funeral activities.
