A man who identified himself as Opanyin Yaw Drah has publicly confirmed December 13, 2025, as the official date for the final funeral rites of the late Highlife legend, Daddy Lumba.

In a new video that is circulating online, Opanyin Drah alleged that he is the father of the late musician and took the opportunity to thank all Ghanaians for their overwhelming support since the passing of his son.

According to him, the funeral date remains unchanged despite the confusion and conflicting reports circulating on social media.

He noted that he was speaking not only for himself but also on behalf of his grandchildren, inviting all Ghanaians to turn up in their numbers to support and help make the funeral a memorable and successful event on December 13, 2025.

Opanyin Drah made this statement in the same video that also featured Daddy Lumba’s first daughter, Denise Lady Ama Saah Fosu, who has now arrived in Ghana to join preparations.

Denise, who returned to Ghana on Monday, December 2025, confirmed in the video shot at the late musician’s East Legon residence that the funeral would indeed be held on December 13.

Her arrival comes at a time when musician-turned-evangelist Papa Shee has been alleging that most of Daddy Lumba’s children living abroad are unprepared for the funeral due to examinations and expired passports and that the best date would be March 10, 2026.
