The baby mama of embattled Ghanaian socialite Frederick Kumi, widely known as Abu Trica, has made an emotional appeal to authorities, calling for leniency amid his ongoing legal troubles.

In a video circulating on X (formerly Twitter), Queenie, a Swedru-based socialite and partner of Abu Trica, pleaded with John Mahama and other national leaders to intervene in the case and secure his release.

Fighting back tears, she appealed for forgiveness on behalf of her partner, stating that if he had committed any wrongdoing, he deserved mercy.

“We have a child, and for almost four months, this has been going on. We have become miserable,” she said, highlighting the emotional toll the case has taken on their family.

Abu Trica was arrested on December 11, 2025, in a joint operation involving the Federal Bureau of Investigation and Ghanaian security agencies.

He is accused of playing a key role in an international criminal syndicate allegedly involved in romance scams targeting elderly victims in the United States.

According to investigators, he faces multiple charges, including conspiracy to commit wire fraud and money laundering conspiracy. If extradited and convicted in the US, he could face up to 20 years in prison.

Queenie emphasised the impact of the case on their child, urging authorities to consider the importance of a father’s presence.

“The extradition talks have become too many… I am begging the leaders of the country to have mercy on us,” she added.

She also expressed gratitude to Ghanaians who have shown support since the case began, hoping her message would reach decision-makers.
