A fresh clash has reignited the long-running feud between Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy, centring on a sensitive claim linked to the death of Stonebwoy’s mother.
The controversy gained traction after Stonebwoy, in an interview on Angel FM, alleged that Shatta Wale had at some point implied he was responsible for the passing of his mother, Catherine Satekla. He described the claim as something that has never been resolved, noting that it continues to block any real attempt at reconciliation.
Shatta Wale has since addressed the matter directly. Speaking during a TikTok live session on April 8, 2026, he rejected the accusation and maintained that he never made such a remark.
“If I ever said such a thing about Stonebwoy, then someone should prove it, because I do everything on the internet, especially when it comes to entertainment. That screenshot you are referring to, I was addressing Joy FM; it was an old video.
“I wasn’t referring to Stonebwoy. That is why I always say we shouldn’t allow ourselves to be misled by the media,” he said.

He also urged caution over how the narrative is being circulated, insisting that it paints him in a false light and keeps tensions alive unnecessarily.
Shatta Wale indicated that the persistence of the allegation is difficult to understand, as he questioned why it continues to be brought up.
“He keeps saying this all the time, and I keep asking myself why, because even if I lack sense, I would never make such a statement about someone’s death.
“It’s about time he stopped that, because sometimes when I come across such claims, I wonder what he is trying to achieve. Why does he want people to see me as a bad person?” the ‘Gringo’ composer asked.
