Ghanaian musician, traditional leader and entrepreneur Ahmmed Kanneh Larweh, popularly known as Sparqlyn, has received two nominations at the Ghana Youth Empowerment Awards 2026.
The nominations, which were announced by the close of day on Friday, August 21, 2026, place Sparqlyn in the running for the Youth Empowerment Advocate of the Year and Outstanding Youth Personality of the Year categories as he battles it out with others for these two prestigious awards.

The latest nominations add to what has already been a remarkable period in Sparqlyn’s career. In 2025, he received six major honours, including African Best Ghanaian Musician of the Year at the African Performance Leadership Awards in Lagos and three awards at the Stars Awards.
The Stars Awards recognised him for his contribution to Ghana and African music and culture, named him Africa Artiste of the Decade and presented him with a Youth Development Honour.
His recognition has not been limited to music. Sparqlyn, was also enstooled in January 2023 as the Development Chief of Krobo Odumase, bearing the traditional title Nene Kanneh Larweh I, Noryam Matse. In that capacity, he has focused attention on youth development, cultural preservation and community development.
One of the key areas associated with his traditional leadership is education where Sparqlyn runs a scholarship initiative aimed at supporting brilliant but financially needy students in the Krobo area.
He has also been involved in efforts to promote unity among Ga-Adangbe communities, mentor emerging musicians and encourage investment and development in the area.
His commitment to young people has been recognised by the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA), which honoured him in 2025 for his contribution to the music industry and youth empowerment, including his mentorship of emerging talents.
Beyond music and traditional leadership, Sparqlyn has built a profile as an entrepreneur. He is the Founder of Sparqlyn Music, a registered Ghanaian musician business, and serves as the CEO of Med and Med Limited, a real estate development company. He is also the CEO of Perfect Signature Limited, an import and export company.
His business interests complement his longstanding involvement in real estate development and construction, while his philanthropic activities continue to focus on creating opportunities for young people and supporting community development.
The latest Ghana Youth Empowerment Awards nominations therefore represent another recognition of a career that has expanded far beyond the recording studio.
From his days as a member of the Hiplife group Dunsin, through his solo music career, to his current roles as a development chief, businessman, philanthropist and youth advocate, Sparqlyn continues to build a public profile thqg certainly deserves all the recognition he is getting.
With the awards ceremony date yet to be announced, attention will now turn to the voting process and whether Sparqlyn will add the Ghana Youth Empowerment Awards 2026 to his growing list of honours.
