Prophet Emmanuel Badu Kobi, has responded to social media speculation surrounding a video of him lying on a hospital bed, dismissing suggestions that the footage was circulated as part of an attempt to solicit money from the public.
The founder of Glorious Wave Church International addressed the controversy during a church service on Sunday, August 23, 2026, where he explained the circumstances surrounding discussions about his health.
According to the preacher, the people who spoke publicly about his condition were motivated by genuine concern and affection rather than a desire to raise funds for him.
Badu Kobi specifically mentioned Seer 1 General, saying his decision to speak about the situation was influenced by the relationship and bond between them.
He argued that if he needed financial assistance, he had enough personal contacts in Ghana and abroad whom he could approach directly rather than relying on public donations.
“I have people in Ghana and outside Ghana who can support me,” he said, insisting that the hospital video should not be interpreted as a financial appeal.
The prophet also maintained that money has never been his primary motivation in life. He claimed that he had previously turned down financial offers because he believed certain matters, particularly those relating to political leadership, should be left to God.
“God, God, God, before good people,” Badu Kobi said, highlighting his belief that his relationship with God remains more important than material wealth.
He further disclosed that several prominent personalities, including ambassadors and other notable individuals, contacted him during his hospitalisation and offered to visit.
However, Badu Kobi said he did not provide them with directions to the hospital.
The preacher acknowledged that several other claims and discussions about him were circulating on social media but indicated that he was not ready to address all of them at this time.
According to him, the appropriate time would come for him to respond to the various issues, but his immediate focus was on God and what he described as the season he is currently experiencing.
Badu Kobi concluded by assuring his congregation and viewers that his situation was not about money.
