Kumawood actor Wayoosi has come to the defence of his colleague Salinko, insisting that the actor’s recent generosity should not be treated as something new or suspicious.

Salinko has faced growing criticism on social media after videos surfaced showing him gifting cars and making promises to financially support some actors in the Ghanaian film industry.

The gestures quickly generated questions among some social media users, with calls for investigations into the source of the actor’s wealth.

However, Wayoosi has offered a different account of Salinko’s character, saying he has known the actor for years as someone who naturally enjoys giving to others.

Speaking in an interview shared on X, Wayoosi said Salinko has consistently demonstrated generosity, even at times when he had very little for himself.

According to him, Salinko has personally given him money on several occasions and has also been known to share his earnings with crew members after movie productions.

“Ever since I got to know Salinko, if he was the one holding this phone and you told him that you wanted it, he would give you the phone and take only his SIM card. This is not the first time I have seen him giving out cash.

“Sometimes, he can have money, but when someone asks him for money, he would dash the money and go hungry. We can be on set; immediately we are done with production and receive our money, Salinko go share the money with the crew,” he said.

Wayoosi also recalled an incident from Salinko’s previous marriage which, according to him, demonstrated just how far the actor could go when helping others.

He said Salinko gave his only car to his former father-in-law during his divorce, despite being left without a vehicle himself.

“During their divorce, Salinko gave his ex-wife’s father his car, and he was walking; it was even a Benz. He didn’t start giving to people today. He is someone who thinks about people.

“I see that the way he has been recognised by others lately is through the blessing of God,” Wayoosi added.
