Black Sherif’s music has taken him from Ghanaian streets to a place inside the home of Germany’s Ambassador to Ghana, Frederik Landshöft, and his family.
That connection took a more personal turn when the award-winning rapper and his team visited the German Residence, giving the Ambassador an opportunity to meet an artiste whose songs have been part of his family’s life for several years.
The German Embassy in Ghana shared details of the encounter in an Instagram post, describing the visit as a dream come true for Ambassador Landshöft and his family.
The Ambassador’s appreciation for Black Sherif’s music dates back to a cold winter evening in Berlin in 2022, when he first heard “Kwaku the Traveller”.
The song immediately caught his attention and eventually became his song of the year.
His admiration for Black Sherif’s music continued after his family moved to Ghana. The Embassy revealed that “Lomo Lomo” was frequently played around the time they relocated to the country last year, while “IRON BOY” became the soundtrack to their first year in Ghana.
The family’s connection with the musician went beyond simply listening to his songs when they received tickets to see him perform live at Zaama Disco as their Christmas present in 2025.
With that history, Black Sherif’s visit to the German Residence naturally came with excitement.
The meeting provided an opportunity for the musician and the Ambassador to talk about music, with their conversation covering rap, highlife and Afrobeats.
They also discussed some of their favourite songs, the stories behind the music and Black Sherif’s latest EP, SUN SHERIF.

The encounter further highlighted an interesting link between Black Sherif’s career and Germany.
According to the Embassy, “First Sermon” and “Second Sermon” were produced by Berlin-based German-Ghanaian producer Ghanaian Stallion.
The rapper has also built a strong following in Germany, giving the country an important place in his growing international audience.
The Embassy suggested that the existing relationship between Black Sherif, his music and Germany could provide more opportunities for cultural exchange between the two countries.
But the meeting was not limited to music and formal conversations.
The Embassy said what stood out to Ambassador Landshöft was Black Sherif’s personality, describing him as “a humble, thoughtful and deeply reflective artist”.
His team was also praised for creating what the Embassy described as a warm and professional atmosphere during the visit.
The relaxed gathering later took an unexpected turn when diplomacy moved from the discussion table to the table tennis table.
Black Sherif and Ambassador Landshöft faced each other in a friendly game, with the Ghanaian musician eventually claiming a narrow victory.
The Embassy jokingly noted that the Ambassador may still be processing the result.
