Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie has ruled out the possibility of taking a second wife, explaining that he does not believe he has the capacity to handle the stress that comes with managing more than one marriage.

The award-winning musician made this known during an interview with broadcaster Serwaa Amihere on When We Sit, where he was asked whether he would consider having two wives, similar to his friend and fellow musician Shatta Wale.

Responding to the question, Sarkodie suggested that polygamy was not something he had seriously considered, stressing that the demands of managing another marriage would be too much for him.

“It’s not something I have thought about. The stress I will face. I don’t think I have the bandwidth for that,” the rapper stated.

His response suggests that he is comfortable with his current marital arrangement and has little interest in introducing the additional responsibilities that could come with taking another wife.

Sarkodie Rejects Second Wife Even Without Stress

During the interview, Serwaa Amihere appeared to approach the question from a different angle by asking whether Sarkodie would consider taking a second wife if doing so came without any stress.

However, the rapper maintained his position, indicating that the idea was not something he was interested in pursuing.

His comments have since provided an interesting insight into his personal views on marriage, particularly at a time when discussions about Shatta Wale’s relationship arrangements continue to generate conversations in Ghana’s entertainment industry.

While some public figures may be open to polygamous relationships, Sarkodie’s response suggests that it is not an arrangement he considers suitable for himself.

Sarkodie, born Michael Owusu Addo, married his longtime partner, Tracy Sarkcess, in July 2018 after several years of dating.

The couple held a private wedding ceremony attended by close friends, family members and selected personalities from the entertainment industry.

Their relationship has remained one of the most closely followed celebrity marriages in Ghana, although the couple generally keep details of their family life away from the public spotlight.
