She said that her younger brother had told them he was going out before they received the distressing call.

“He said he was going out. Not long after, we received a call that he had fainted. We rushed to the hospital and we were told that he had passed away,” she recounted.

Gloria explained that although her brother was based in Accra, he had travelled to Tarkwa the previous night. She said he drove himself from Accra to Tarkwa and also drove himself to the radio station only for the family to be called later with the unfortunate news.

Gloria added that that her late younger brother has left behind three children. She also explained that, on their mother’s side of the family, only the two of them remained, while there were four siblings on their father’s side.

Kwame Dzokoto until his untimely death had built a name for himself in Ghana’s entertainment industry through acting, comedy and broadcasting. His portrayal of Judge Koboo in “Efiewura” made him a familiar face in many Ghanaian homes, while his work as host of TV3’s food and tourism programme “Edziban” introduced viewers to Ghanaian dishes, local eateries and food culture.

He also worked as a radio presenter, including stints at Skyy Power FM in Takoradi and Hello FM in Kumasi. Outside entertainment, he was active in politics and contested the Tarkwa-Nsuaem parliamentary seat on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress in the 2016 general election. His death came weeks after he publicly addressed concerns about his health.

In September 2026, Dzokoto spoke about previous health challenges and surgery abroad, with support from businessman Ibrahim Mahama. He had also pushed back against rumours of his death at the time.

However, the exact medical cause of his sudden collapse on October 22 has not been established in the reports cited, and it would be premature to link his death to any particular condition.
