Betyetu Sports Betting Company has released a press statement in reaction to that of Charterhouse Ghana, organizers of the annual Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMAs) which was released yesterday, May 16.
The betting company in their release confirm that they have no partnership with Charter House with regards to their novelty bet they introduced for the upcoming VGMAs, which affirms the statement released and signed by George Quaye, head of communications at Charterhouse.
However, Betyetu express shock as to why Charter House will suggest that people should not bet with their company when they don’t have the legal rights to do so.
According to them, novelty bets are periodically introduced by betting companies to commemorate any social event happening in a country at a particular point in time. They sight the examples of novelty bet involving Game of Thrones (a TV show) and America Got Talent (a TV reality show) which are currently running on other betting sites to back their case.
The betting company also assure all their patrons that they have in stock a special bonus for all who placed a bet for a marriage proposal at this year’s VGMAs if it indeed happens.
