Ghana’s Urban Youth Station, YFM in Accra became the chewing stick for most Ghanaians on social media after a flyer of their chat show surfaced on the platform.
The chart show, YTop 20 countdown has most of its songs on the list from Nigerian musicians, a factor that angered most Ghanaians who chanced on the advertisement. Critics who commented on the show’s list questioned why the station would rate most Nigerian songs ahead of the countless Ghanaian tunes released in the year 2017.
They stressed that the station is not helping the development of Ghanaian music judging from the songs on their chart show.
Zionfelix.net after going through the list spotted only three songs from Ghanaian musicians – Sarkodie, Stonebwoy and King Promise.
