According to her, she spent about a month to record her single “Awoso Me” years back but musicians of today use few hours to record one tune for the public to enjoy. The singer and songwriter added that many other renowned musicians including Ofori Amponsah, A-Plus, Daddy Lumba and others who came to Hush Hush Studio, where she used to work years back also used same period to record their singles.

“All my songs made sense and had storylines. My songs talked about love, a little bit of sex and passion. It was not just one word I was repeating over and over again but it had a storyline. It had good chorus and if there had to be rap, it was one with sense and had to do with the song but not any rap that just ryhmes.” Mzbel said on the show.

Sharing her thought on why Ghanaians chastised her music years back, the mother of one stated that the populace had a problem with the lyrics of her songs because they were not ready for sexually explicit content. To her, Daddy Lumba was the only artiste releasing such songs years back so Ghanaians were not used to such music.

“They were bashing me because of my lyrics. Ghana was not ready for that kind of lyrics and the costume that came with it. They said the lyrics were provocative and it was only Daddy Lumba who was doing songs like that so a female doing something like that was too much for them” she added.

Mzbel in the past years has released hit songs like Edey Bii featuring Castro, 16 Years, Saucy Girl, Awoso Me and many others.
