Music and entertainment brand, 3Music have announced categories for the first annual 3Music Awards, slated for early next year.

Here are what the categories looks like.

3Music in the next few weeks will engage with taste makers, respected influencers from the media and blogger space, experienced music and entertainment industry individuals to collate and put out nominees on all creative pieces released between 1^st October, 2016 – 31^st October, 2017 for the awards
TOPMOST AWARD

The song of the year category will be the #3MA’s topmost award which will not only go to the act/group whose voices are heard on the song but recognizes the songwriter, producer, sound engineer and or mixer as well.

Fan Army of the year will reward the best artiste fan groups within the year and Best social media will reward best social media use by talents across, facebook, twitter, Instagram & snapchat.

The awards also include some other honorary awards to be given to outstanding personalities, brands & organisations.

3Music Awards will be launched in January, 2018. The main ceremony will be broadcasted live on TV3 as well as partner radio platforms.

1. Male act of the year

• The most outstanding and dominant male act on the basis of the popularity of his recordings and performances with atleast one video release within the year. This award goes music’s leading man of the year our “Man of the year”.

2. Female act of the year

• The most outstanding and dominant female act on the basis of the popularity of her recordings and performances with atleast one video release within the year. This award goes to music’s leading woman of the year our “The bosschic of music”

3. Group the year

• The most outstanding and dominant music group on the basis of the popularity of their music and performances with atleast one video release within the year.

4. Breakout of the year

• The most exciting and dominant breakthrough act/group whose recording became extremely popular within the year.

5. Album of the year

• The most outstanding album on the basis of lyrical power and or superior songwriting, productions and promoted with atleast a video. This award does not only go to the act/group whose voices are heard on the song but recognizes the songwriters, producers, sound engineers and or mixers on the album.

6. Song of the year

• The most outstanding and dominant song of the year on the basis of lyrical power, superior songwriting, productions and promoted with atleast a video. This award does not only go to the act/group whose voices are heard on the song but recognizes the songwriter, producer, sound engineer and or mixer. This is our topmost award.

7. Viral song of the year

• The most popular song that saw a sudden and rapid spread specifically popularized through online interactivity and social media. This is voted for exclusively by the fans.

8. Video of the year

The most outstanding music video of the year on the basis of superior concept, good picture quality, editing and overall packaging of the video. This award goes to talent and director of the video.

9. Reggae/Dancehall act of the year

• The most outstanding and dominant reggae/dancehall act on the basis of the popularity of his/her/their recordings.

10. Hip-hop/Hiplife act of the year

• The most outstanding and dominant Hip-hop/Hiplife act on the basis of the popularity of his/her/their recordings.

11. Highlife act of the year

• The most outstanding and dominant highlife act on the basis of the popularity of his/her/their recordings.

12. Gospel act of the year

• The most outstanding and dominant gospel act on the basis of the popularity of his/her/their recordings.

13. Best Collaboration.

• The most outstanding and dominant collaboration of the year created through the combine efforts of two different acts.

14. DJ of the year

• The most outstanding/dominant, DJ of the year on the basis of his/her work as a radio/Club/Artiste DJ.

15. Fan Army of the year.

• The most outstanding/dominant artiste fan group on the basis of their social media following, top of mind and offline activities. This is voted for exclusively by the fans.

16. Best Social Media

• Best TwitStar – Outstanding use of twitter by an act in harnessing the biggest fanbase, maintaining visibility, higher engagement of each post, audience interactivity, trendsetting the narrative and pursuing causes.
• Facebook star of the year – Outstanding use of facebook by an act in harnessing the biggest fanbase, maintaining visibility, higher engagement of each post, audience interactivity, trendsetting the narrative and pursuing causes.
• Snapchat star of the year

Outstanding use of snapchat by an act in harnessing the biggest fanbase, maintaining visibility, higher engagement of each post, audience interactivity, trendsetting the narrative and pursuing causes.

• Instagram star of the year

The most outstanding African act whose recordings have made an impact in Ghana within the year.
