The talk of more Ghanaian music on our airwaves has been ongoing for long but became intense in 2017 because many argued that Ghanaian songs are rarely played in Nigeria but same does not happen in Ghana.

According to critics who are not happy with Nigerian songs dominating our airwaves, the country’s musicians produce equally good tunes which can compete with that of their competitors from Nigeria so it worries them to hear more of the foreign acts instead of local artistes.

They also add that most Ghanaian musicians do not enjoy airplay in Nigeria and that has been confirmed by the list of Ghanaian musicians who get airplay in the country led by Muhammadu Buhari.

Actress Juliet Ibrahim who is mostly in Nigeria for business and holidays in a conversation with Andy Dosty on Hitz FM listed Ghanaian musicians she mostly hears their songs on the radio and they are four.

Zionfelix.net monitoring their conversation heard that Sarkodie and Zylofon Music artistes,  Becca and Stonebwoy gain major airplay in Nigeria. The actress of Lebanese, Liberian and Ghanaian descent added that she at times hear songs of King Promise over there as well.

When Andy Dosty, host of the morning show asked if she has ever heard a song of Shatta Wale on the radio, the mother of one answered no.
