Ghanaian singer-songwriter Akwaboah has jumped to the defense of his former label boss, Sarkodie, following a controversial claim made by controversial social media user Albert Nat Hyde, popularly known as Bongo Ideas.

Bongo Ideas tried to stir some social media uproar after alleging that Sarkodie had failed to compensate a young man, identified by his handle @officialodjidja, who purportedly sang the hook on a promotional song Sarkodie did for FirstBank Ghana.

According to Bongo Ideas, the alleged vocalist was now bedridden and in critical condition after receiving no financial benefit from the collaboration.

“This is the current state of the guy who sang the hook for the promo track you did for @FirstBankGhana. He’s terribly sick and bedridden as he did not make even a dime from the gig,” Bongo claimed in a post that included a photo of the ailing young man and a tweet from Sarkodie promoting the track.

However, Akwaboah, who previously served under Sarkodie’s Sarkcess Music label, swiftly refuted the claims, by describing them as baseless and misinformed.

In his response, Akwaboah clarified that he was the one who wrote the hook in question and actually got the young man to sing it because he is his ‘boy’..

Akwaboah further emphasized that Sarkodie actually does not even know the boy.

“Yo stop lying on Sark bruh!!! I wrote the hook… I made him sing… he’s ma boy and Sark doesn’t know him. Get facts right,” Akwaboah posted.
