Jamaican dancehall heavyweight Adidja Palmer, popularly known as Vybz Kartel or Worl Boss, is reportedly planning a monumental concert in Accra this December, marking what could be his first major performance on African soil.

According to renowned Ghanaian sports journalist Gary Al-Smith, the dancehall icon has made preliminary inquiries about booking the Accra Sports Stadium, a 40,000-capacity venue that has previously played host to Ghanaian musical giants like Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy.

If confirmed, the event is poised to become one of the most anticipated global music shows in Ghana this year.

The move comes on the heels of a growing bond between Vybz Kartel and Ghana’s own dancehall kingpin, Shatta Wale.

The two have shared the stage and collaborated musically in recent months, symbolizing a cultural bridge between Caribbean and African dancehall communities.

In December 2024, Shatta Wale was one of the headliners at Vybz Kartel’s explosive homecoming concert in Jamaica.

is first major appearance following his release from prison. The concert, held at the Jamaican National Stadium (capacity 35,000), drew massive international attention and was dubbed a “worldwide dancehall revival.”

Kartel, who served 13 years in prison, was freed after Jamaica’s Court of Appeal overturned his murder conviction and ruled against a retrial. Since then, the Worl Boss has been on a mission to reconnect with fans across the globe.
