The chieftaincy dispute surrounding the enstoolment of Mikki Osei Berko has taken a new turn following a major police crackdown.
What began as a traditional leadership contest after the actor’s installation as Nana Osei Boakye Yiadom II has now evolved into a full-blown security concern.

According to an official press release issued by the Eastern Regional Police Command on April 4, 2026, a total of ten suspects were arrested on Sunday, May 3, 2026, at Adamorobe in Aburi.
The arrests were made in connection with the possession of arms and ammunition without lawful authority, all linked to the ongoing chieftaincy tensions in the area.
The police revealed that the likes Dawu Joseph, Kwame Aboagye, Samuel Obeng, Owusu Paul, and Jerry John Kwame Attila, alongside several others identified as private security operatives were arrested.
In a development that further heightens the stakes, the police disclosed that an additional suspect who is claiming to be the legitimate ruler, Douglas Amoako Danquah, was arrested on May 4, 2026, after he was reportedly sighted in a procession within the township.

His arrest brings the total number of suspects in custody to eleven.
A search conducted during the operation uncovered a disturbing cache of items, including five pump-action rifles, twenty-three live cartridges, a taser, six mobile phones, and a piece of body armour.
The police also impounded two vehicles, an unregistered Ford pickup and a Toyota Corolla, which are believed to have been used to transport the suspects.
Authorities say all suspects are currently in custody and assisting with ongoing investigations.
