Reggie Rockstone has weighed in on the race for the top prize at the 2026 Telecel Ghana Music Awards, pointing to Wendy Shay as the contender whose victory would carry the most compelling storyline on the night.
Speaking with Kwame Dadzie on Joy FM’s Showbiz A-Z, the hiplife originator acknowledged the depth of this year’s field but singled out Wendy Shay’s campaign as the one he would find most satisfying if it ends in triumph.
“It will be a beautiful story if Wendy picks it up. I am just saying even from the outlook. Of course, I would love for Medikal too because he has put in a lot of work. But it will be beautiful. It will make me smile really big,” he said.

Wendy Shay is up against a formidable lineup for the Artiste of the Year crown, including Medikal, Black Sherif, Diana Hamilton, Stonebwoy, and Sarkodie, with the winner to be announced on May 9.
A win would mark a first in the category for both Wendy Shay and Medikal. Black Sherif and Diana Hamilton each have one title to their names, while Stonebwoy and Sarkodie enter the contest with multiple wins and considerable experience at this level.
The awards night will be staged at the Grand Arena of the Accra International Conference Centre on May 9.
