During a visit to the Ghana High Commission in the United Kingdom ahead of his upcoming August concert, Shatta Wale revisited the long-standing conversation around rivalry in Ghana’s music scene, insisting that such tensions are not necessarily harmful to the industry.

He explained that competition has always been part of show business and should not be discouraged, as long as it does not harden into permanent divisions among artistes. In his view, disagreements are inevitable, but the real test is how quickly the industry moves back to unity afterward.

Shatta Wale also noted that the conversation around artistes clashing is often misunderstood, arguing that the sector needs more support and a healthier perspective on creative competition rather than avoidance of conflict.

“I feel sometimes we don’t get the necessary support as musicians. Artistes can beef, but there should be a time when we celebrate the anniversary of the beef. Stonebwoy and I have a rivalry, but everywhere I go, I want people to know that Stonebwoy is my little brother. I love him so much,” he said.

Turning specifically to his well-known relationship with Stonebwoy, Shatta Wale suggested that their rivalry should be understood as part of a broader dynamic that can energize the industry rather than weaken it.

He argued that when properly managed, such competition can generate attention, excitement, and even bigger opportunities for Ghanaian music on the global stage.

He further expressed concern about how Stonebwoy’s circle interprets the situation, saying those around him should help broaden his understanding of the bigger industry picture.

“He has a team around him, and I believe they should also try to educate him about what we are doing. This whole agenda people have been talking about could even become a major shutdown event when people see that we are ready to make it happen,” Shatta Wale stated.
