Founder and leader of the International God’s Way Church (IGWC), Bishop Daniel Obinim, has once again sparked public discussion after expressing concerns about the company his wife, Florence Obinim, currently keeps.
The controversial preacher made the remarks during a church event on Thursday, June 11, 2026, just days after his comments regarding his funeral arrangements generated widespread debate on social media.
Bishop Obinim recently made headlines after announcing before his congregation that he did not want his wife involved in organising his funeral when he passes away. According to him, responsibility for his burial arrangements should rest solely with his children and members of his church.
Explaining his position at the time, the preacher cited experiences and events that followed the deaths of some prominent Ghanaian personalities, including highlife legend Daddy Lumba, as factors influencing his decision.
His remarks attracted significant attention and prompted a response from Florence Obinim, who stated in an interview that she was not surprised by her husband’s comments.
“I was not surprised, but I thank God he said it while he is alive,” she said, adding that it was better for such wishes to be made known in advance rather than remain unspoken.
However, in his latest address to congregants, Bishop Obinim shifted attention to what he described as concerns about his wife’s social circle.
According to the preacher, Florence’s current group of friends has become a source of worry for him, claiming that the people she associates with may not be having a positive influence on her.
“My wife, Florence Obinim’s current circle of friends she rolls with is not the best. I am currently scared,” he told members of his congregation.
The bishop noted that his wife had traditionally been an introverted person who preferred to keep a small circle of friends and generally avoided extensive social interactions.
He alleged that her behaviour had changed in recent times, expressing concern about the possible consequences of her new friendships.
Describing the situation as troubling, Obinim indicated that he might distance himself from the matter if things continued in the same direction.
“I will pull back,” he stated.
His comments have since generated mixed reactions online, with some social media users expressing concern about the public nature of the couple’s disagreements, while others have defended the bishop’s right to openly share his concerns.
