This is the full written story of how I finally got my U.S. Visa approved with a journey of preparation, hope, and opportunities.
I am Felix Adomako Mensah, popularly known as Zionfelix, a Ghanaian entertainment blogger, YouTuber, media personality, a digital content creator, the CEO of Zionfelix Entertainment, Zionfelix Studio, and PAFA Homes.
For years, I’ve traveled across Ghana interviewing celebrities, covering entertainment events, and built one of the country’s biggest entertainment platforms — Zionfelix Entertainment News. But there was one dream that remained uncertain — stepping into the United States with an approved visa in my passport.
Today, I am here to share my experience on how I got my USA Visa, with how I was afraid at the initial stage and I am here as Zionfelix to share my first time America Visa interview experience with you with regards to how to get a U.S Visa approval in Ghana.
How It Started
The whole journey of applying for the U.S visa started somewhere March when Ghana was playing the friendly match with Germany, and I met the man that changed everything — Kenpong (Kennedy Agyapong, the CEO of Kenpong Travel & Tours).
I informed him about how I wished I could go to the US to watch the World Cup to support Ghana but I don’t have the money. Kenpon promised of sponsoring me to the US to watch the football game.
The Anxiety
Everything that made me do this video was all about my fear of getting rejected.
I walked to the America Embassy carrying more than documents. I carried years of work, dreams of international opportunities, and the expectations of followers who had watched my career grow from humble beginnings.
As I was called for appointment day being due, I was afraid to go for my interview all with the fear of rejection.
There were so many questions running through his mind; What if they say no? What if all my plans end at the embassy gate?
The Interview Day
On the 22nd of June was my visa interview day at a time of 1:30pm but I woke up early to start my preparation, dressed carefully I left home early from Kasoa due to massive traffic on the road and got there around 11:00 am and waiting for the interview time.
I walked to the American Embassy for my U.S Visa interview by joining queue, with questions being asked and I got my U.S Visa approved. My U.S Visa has been issued and you are reading this because I am currently in America.
There were many other applicants in-front of me, while many applicants behind me as well with heart beating faster as my turn approached.
I was asked with few interview questions with regards to source of funds,
The Moment
With so many questions being asked, my fear was whether I am going to be approved or rejected. While waiting for a while, the Visa officer looked up, nodding his head and I was contemplating if it’s good nodding of head or bad. He finally delivered the words every applicant hopes to hear.
“Congratulations, your visa has been approved.”
Then came the moment that changed my entire day. Relief washed over me instantly. The tension of being rejected disappeared, replaced by gratitude, excitement, and disbelief.

Like many Ghanaians, the thought of applying for a U.S. visa came with mixed emotions: hope, anxiety, and countless questions.
I know how so many Ghanaians dream of visiting the U.S. just like my personal experience.
Would he be approved? Would the interview go well? Had he prepared enough?
But all thanks to God, as everything went to my favour. I have been approved for U.S Visa to travel to America.
