Stonebwoy has reaffirmed the lasting respect and admiration he holds for veteran dancehall musician Samini. He indicated that their shared history means there is nothing that could ever make him hate the man he considers both a mentor and an elder brother.
Speaking during a live TikTok session, the Burniton Music Group boss looked back on the early stages of his music career, explaining how his relationship with Samini began long before he became one of Ghana’s biggest music stars.
Stonebwoy revealed that he first connected with Samini while he was still a student in senior high school. At the time, he was told that once he completed his education, he would have the opportunity to work with the celebrated artiste and begin pursuing music professionally.
After graduating, that promise became reality when Samini welcomed him into his camp and treated him like family, a gesture Stonebwoy says has remained with him throughout his career.
Recalling that chapter of his life, Stonebwoy said the bond they built extends far beyond music, stressing that no misunderstanding or disagreement could ever wipe away the appreciation he has for Samini.

“I was in SHS 2 or 3 when they made me understand that after I completed school, I would work with them. That was how, after I finished SHS, Samini took me in as his younger brother. That is why I call him my big brother.
“He is someone in my life; he cannot do anything for me to hate him. I see him as my big brother, and there is nothing that could ever make me hate him, whether it is good or bad,” Stonebwoy averred.
The relationship between the two artistes stretches back to the mid-2000s, when Stonebwoy was an emerging talent searching for an opportunity in Ghana’s music scene. By then, Samini had already established himself as one of the country’s leading dancehall performers and became a key figure in nurturing the younger musician’s career.
