Akosua Serwaa, widow of late highlife legend Charles Kwadwo Fosu, popularly known as Daddy Lumba, has reportedly taken legal action against Victor Kofi Owusu, widely known as Abusuapanin Tupac, and Alex Kofi Boadi Ampong over comments she says questioned the authenticity of her marriage to the late musician.

The case has been filed at the Kumasi High Court, with Akosua Serwaa seeking GH¢3 million in general and aggravated damages for alleged defamation.

According to a video seen on Gossips24, the statement of claim is based on a comment made by Abusuapanyin Kofi Owusu when appeared on UTV’s United Showbiz programme on November 29, 2025, during a discussion about Akosua Serwaa, her marriage to Daddy Lumba and her German marriage certificate.

It is stated that she alleges that during the programme, comments were made suggesting that her German marriage certificate was fake.

Akosua Serwaa however strongly denies the allegation and says the certificate is a genuine official German civil-status document. She also denies claims that the certificate was manufactured, forged or fabricated in Ashanti New Town or anywhere in Kumasi.

The widow further claims that the allegations continued after the November 2025 television appearance, with further publications allegedly made on June 8, 2026, and July 5, 2026.

She argues that the statements have damaged her reputation by creating doubts about her marriage to Daddy Lumba, her status as his lawful widow and the authenticity of documents supporting her claim.

Akosua Serwaa also says the allegations have affected her professional reputation as a nurse working in Germany. She argues that accusations of forging or relying on a fake marriage certificate could negatively affect her integrity and trustworthiness.

She further claims that the allegations have been widely circulated on social media, particularly TikTok, and have contributed to abusive comments directed at her.

In court, Akosua Serwaa is asking for an order declaring the statements false and defamatory. She is also seeking an injunction to stop the defendants from repeating claims that her German marriage certificate is fake, forged or fabricated, or that she was never legally married to Daddy Lumba.

She wants the defendants to publicly retract the statements and apologise through the platforms where the allegations were allegedly published or repeated.

In addition to these orders, Akosua Serwaa is seeking GH¢3 million in general and aggravated damages for the alleged defamation.
