Ghanaian content creator Deaconess Abokomah has opened up about his decision to put marriage on hold for now, explaining that family responsibilities and the pressure that comes with them have made him more focused on getting his life in order first.
The 33-year-old made the revelation during an exclusive interview with ZionFelix, where he spoke candidly about his current position on marriage and why he is not in a hurry to settle down.
According to Abokomah, he is simply not ready to take on the responsibilities that come with marriage at this stage of his life. Rather than allowing his age or societal expectations to push him into making a decision he is not prepared for, he wants to concentrate on getting himself and his family to a better place.
He cited family pressure and the numerous responsibilities he has to deal with as some of the major reasons marriage is not currently a priority.

Abokomah explained that when he considers his family situation, he believes he needs to be in a better position before thinking seriously about starting a family of his own.
For him, marriage is a major commitment that requires more than simply reaching a certain age. He wants to feel settled and financially and personally comfortable before taking that step.
The content creator’s comments also highlighted the realities that can sometimes influence a person’s decision to marry, particularly when family responsibilities demand considerable attention and resources.
Abokomah further brought some humour into the conversation by referencing American pop star Ariana Grande.
He jokingly pointed out that even Ariana Grande, who is considerably wealthy, is not married, apparently suggesting that being successful, financially comfortable or reaching a certain age does not mean a person must necessarily rush into marriage.
