Kumawood actor and filmmaker Kwadwo Nkansah Lilwin is once again looking beyond Ghana’s borders as he prepares to embark on another ambitious international movie project, A Journey to Africa (Nzulezu), following the attention generated by his previous production, A Country Called Ghana.
The new project is expected to bring together a star-studded cast from Ghana and Nigeria, with several well-known Nollywood personalities scheduled to arrive in Accra on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, for the commencement of activities surrounding the movie.
According to a media invitation issued by the production team, the Nigerian stars will touch down at the Accra International Airport, Terminal 3 Arrivals, at 8:00 a.m., where they are expected to receive a grand welcome and engage the media for the first time.
Reports on the new project have named Kanayo O. Kanayo, Patience Ozokwor (Mama G), Mike Ezuruonye, Zubby Michael and Destiny Etiko among the Nigerian stars associated with the production.
The project represents Lilwin’s second major attempt at creating a Ghanaian movie with prominent Nigerian stars after A Country Called Ghana, which featured Ramsey Nouah, Charles Awurum and Victor Osuagwu.
That earlier production attracted considerable attention for its Ghana-Nigeria collaboration and went on to receive international festival recognition.
Lilwin has previously stated that he wants to use such collaborations to raise the profile of Ghanaian filmmaking and reach audiences beyond the local market.
Interestingly, A Journey to Africa was announced as an even more ambitious project, with Lilwin previously expressing his desire to feature international stars, including Hollywood actors, if he could secure the necessary financial support.
The title A Journey to Africa (Nzulezu) also points to one of Ghana’s notable cultural and tourism attractions. Nzulezu, in the Western Region, is a settlement built on stilts over the Amansuri wetland, providing a distinctive Ghanaian setting for the film.
