In the wake of calls on Ghanaian TV stations to get more local content and promote them on their various networks by some section of Ghanaian celebrities, some social media users believe it will be difficult to do this because local contents, unlike foreign ones, do not get the needed sponsorship, which is how these TV stations survive.

Actress Salma Mumin is, however, of a different opinion with regards to this claim. According to her, sponsors may decide to turn a blind eye to local content and movies being shown on TV stations because the local TV stations do not try enough.

In reply to this comment “Local movies don’t get sponsorship” by an Instagram user under a post by celebrity blogger Zionfelix, the Salma Eatery boss wrote, “if they decide to show local content only or more, sponsors won’t have a choice but to sponsor.”
