The spectacular display of music craftsmanship by Adom Brass Band from Amisa Ekyir has earned them the covetous prize of the maiden Miksi Brass Band Competition held in Cape Coast.

The group was among 10 other groups who managed to qualify to the top four and eventually became winners.

They took home a cash prize of 5000 Cedis, products from Miksi and has become the official brass band for Miksi.

Brand manager of Miksi, Mr. Magnus Dey in his congratulatory message to the winners said the competition has come to promote lesser known music talents.

“Miksi as a brand has a focus to promote community driven activities. We are well known for promoting and appreciating lesser known sport, lesser known act and lesser known music. Brass band is core to the community we decided to promote it, drive it and engage the community with it as well as award well performing bands who have not been giving any recognition”, he said.

Mr. Magnus disclosed the company intends involving various Senior High Schools together with the communities to make the competition more attractive.

“There was so much energy, there was so much fire and we think that we are to boycott some other events to make this a consistent event. So next year be expecting us, the thing about next year is that will be rolling in the High Schools addition as well. We might move from the local to the high schools but we will still bring the high schools down to the communities”

Oracle Brass Band from KNH, UCC came second winning 3000 Cedis and products from Miksi, while Heligab Brass Band from Pedu came third taking home 2000 Cedis and some products as well.

Aside it being a competition, fans were thrilled to great musical renditions by the participants, they also enjoyed products from Miksi.
