Blackstar Line Festival is the largest concert in the history of Ghana -Chance The Rapper

Renowned American rapper, Chance the Rapper has said that his inaugural Blackstar Line Festival in January this year is the biggest concert to be held in Ghana.

According to the Grammy Award winning who was speaking on the Tonight Show with Fallon, the concert performances from the likes of Erykah Badu, T Pain, Vic Mensah, and Sarkodie among a host of others was magical.

“It was very successful, the Black Star Line Fest was magical. 52,000 people showed up, the largest concert in the history of Ghana and it was way deeper than trying to do a festival in Ghana.

“It was an opportunity for Black people from around the world to get together and commune safely and like have some good music,” he stated.

The free admission concert, according to the No Problem artiste will be replicated in Kingston, Jamaica, and other destinations across the world in subsequent editions.

“I am actually looking to do it again in January, myself and Vic Mensa, looking to do it again, we are actually thinking about hosting the next one in Kingston, Jamaica.

“We are still working it out in our head and we love the city of Accra, Ghana, and West Africa as a whole and we want to just continue to create community spaces and not make it such like stagnant thing so we are just looking any country that wants to host us,” he noted.

Chance The Rapper and Vic Mensa launched the inaugural edition of their Black Star Line festival at the Independence Square with an all-star concert featuring sets from Erykah Badu, Dave Chappelle, T-Pain, Jeremih, Sarkodie, Tobe Nwigwe, Asakaa Boys and M. anifest.
