Entertainers in Kenya will forever thank their president Uhuru Kenyatta for a directive that the Ministry of Sports, Culture and Heritage set aside Ksh.100 million ($941,266) to cushion local artistes from the effects of the coronavirus pandemic.
Addressing the Nation on the state of the COVID-19 outbreak in the country, Kenyatta said the Ksh.100 million fund will allow artistes, actors and musicians to continue entertaining the public through TV, radio and the internet.
Just after the president’s address in Kenya, Zionfelix.net has seen Ghanaian rap musician Tic formerly Tic Tac asking H.E William Addo Dankwa “Nana” Akufo-Addo to emulate what his colleague has done.
Tic in a tweet strongly believes the president setting aside a fund for entertainers in Ghana to also bring joy to the populace during this period will help release stress.
In the tweet zionfelix.net read, he wrote ” Support for musicians, actors and artistes in Kenya, can we do same in Ghana?”
This comment from the musician was not well received by most of his followers who strongly believe the president can wisely use the money he will set aside for entertainers to help the needy.
Addressing tweeps who disagreed with his suggestion, the ‘Philomena’ hitmaker took time to explain to them why the president needs to set aside fund for entertainers in Ghana.
Whilst Tic is busily campaigning for the president to set aside a fund for entertainers, Kumawood stars Ellen White and Bediide in a separate interview with Zionfelix have also said there is no need for government o give actors and musicians money during this coronaviurs season.
