The number of novel COVID-19 cases in Ghana has increased to 5,127.

This new number comes about as a result of 427 new cases of which 272 are from the Obuasi township.

This new update was provided by the Director-General of the Ghana Health Service at a briefing on Tuesday morning.

The DG also indicated that there have been no new recoveries with the figure still standing at 494.

However, there are 130 persons awaiting their second negative test, according to the Ghana Health Service.

The death toll also stands at 22.
