Ghanaian musician and entrepreneur, Desmond Kwesi Blackmore, popularly known as D-Black, is currently facing a difficult moment in his life as he mourns the loss of his elder brother, Stanley Blackmore.

The musician, also the CEO of Black Avenue Music, recently shared the heartbreaking news with his fans and well-wishers.

In a somber announcement posted on his social media account at the time of the sad demise of his brother, he expressed his deep sorrow, saying, “Terrible day for me. Just lost one of my big brothers. 10 of us, 1 gone too soon.”

Born to a Ghanaian mother, Adeline Boateng, and a father of half-Ghanaian and half-English descent, John Derek Blackmore, D-Black comes from a large and close-knit family of nine siblings.

Among the known siblings are Pamela Blackmore, Anthony Blackmore, George Blackmore, and the departed Stanley Blackmore.

In a bid to honor the life of Stanley Blackmore, a funeral service has been arranged to provide an opportunity for friends, family, and well-wishers to pay their respects and celebrate the life of a beloved son, brother, husband, and friend.

The funeral arrangements for Stanley Blackmore are as follows:


  • Burial Mass:
    • Date: Friday, 20th October 2023
    • Time: 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM
    • Address: Eglise Saint Saturnin, 132 Grande rue Charles De Gaulle, 94130 Nogent-sur-Marne.
  • Cremation:
    • Time: 1:45 PM
    • Address: Crematorium de l’Arche De Marueil Les Beaux, Zac de la Haute Bourne, 175 Av. des Fortes Terres, 77100.

Refreshments will be provided following the service.


A memorial service will also be held in the United Kingdom to remember and celebrate the life of Stanley Blackmore. Details for the UK memorial service are as follows:

  • Memorial Service:
    • Date: Saturday, 28th October 2023
    • Time: 12:00 PM – 3:00 PM
    • Address: St. Margaret of Scotland Catholic Church, Fir Tree Grove, Surrey, SM5 4NG.

Dress code for the memorial service is black and white, as a symbol of respect and remembrance for Stanley Blackmore.
