Edem’s Management Reacts To Reports About His Arrest Following His Involvement In Near Fatal Road Accident

In response to mounting reports concerning Edem’s alleged involvement in a fatal road accident, the management of the acclaimed rapper has released an official statement shedding light on the incident that transpired on the George Walker Bush Highway.

The statement issued indicated that Edem narrowly escaped a life-threatening situation when an unidentified woman unexpectedly crossed his path, resulting in a collision.

The incident reportedly took place on Sunday, December 10, shortly after Edem’s appearance on United Television.

The statement emphasized, “Edem’s car turned upside down after the impact, but the artiste is very fine.”

It also added that Edem is fully cooperating with the police service as the case remains under investigation.

“Edem is currently complying with the police service for due process as the case is still under investigation,” some other portion of the statement read.

Earlier today, Graphic.com.gh reported that Edem appeared before the Kaneshie District Court on Monday, December 11, 2023, facing charges related to the accident, which led to the tragic death of an identified woman. The report revealed that Edem was driving an unregistered Honda Touring vehicle at the time of the incident.

The rapper was charged with two counts: careless and inconsiderate driving, and negligently causing harm. During the court proceedings overseen by Nana Abena Asor Owusu Amenyo, Edem did not enter a plea. However, he was granted bail in the amount of GH¢50,000 with two sureties.

The court has scheduled Edem’s next appearance for February 15, 2024.
