The actor made the remark when he granted an interview to renowned sports journalist, Saddick Adams recently.

“Where the world is going now, everything is about money. So anyone who will sit for an hour to watch a movie is a lazy person,” he said.

The remarks received a lot of reactions on social media, with many people bashing the actor for making such claims.

In a reaction to this backlash online, FIPAG in a press statement signed by the President of FIPAG, James Aboagye, described the comments made by Yaw Dabo as “very unsavory, offensive and insult[ing].”

They added that his behavior is an affront to the film industry and should not be entertained and supported by any well-mannered person
