Ghanaian gospel musician, Abena Ruthy has rooted for Celestine Donkor to win the Gospel Artiste of the Year at the 2020 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards.

In a post sighted by Zionfelix.net on Facebook, the musician and entrepreneur revealed why it is important for the ‘Agbebolo’ singer to be pushed.

She wished a different gospel artiste would be able to win from the Gospel Artiste of the Year category as far as the VGMA is concerned subsequently.

Abena Ruthy was resolute that a collaborative effort to help Celestine Donkor to win from the category which has Joe Mettle, Diana Hamilton, Joyce Blessing, Akesse Brempong and MOG Music as nominees will help the gospel music sector.

She wrote: “I wish every year we’ll have a different person winning Gospel Artiste of the year. We should get more of our folks on top. Diana and Joe are awesome and can even push for this with their huge following but I believe we should give Celestine Donkor the opportunity this year. She has come far and has worked hard too. Let’s see how it goes. We love all of you and are very proud to see you blazing the trail. Long live the Gospel Industry.”
