The Founder and CEO of Ghana Actors and Entertainers Awards, Cecilia Konamah Gyaase, otherwise known as Abena Ghana, has regretted including musicians in the country in the maiden edition of the award scheme.

She lamented in an interview with Zion Felix on the ‘Uncut Show’ that most of the musicians in the country refused to support and appreciates the works of the organizers.

The GAE Awards CEO said the majority of these musicians didn’t even show at the awards night despite sending out invitations to them.

This situation has compelled her and the team to take the musicians category out of the 2nd edition of the awards.

Abena Ghana revealed the sponsors were not happy about the musicians’ refusal to show up and she doesn’t want such a thing to repeat itself.

She singled out Shatta Wale for his support and effort to get someone to represent him when he was outside the shores of the country.

Currently, nominations are opened for the next edition of Ghana Actors and Entertainers Awards now christened Time Actors and Entertainment Awards. The entry of submissions will be closed by March 31, 2020.

The launch and unveiling of nominees is expected to come off on May 28, 2020, in Accra. The main event is scheduled to take place at the National Theatre on August 15, 2020.
