As anticipation builds for the 2024 Telecel Ghana Music Awards, scheduled for Saturday, June 1, a tweet by popular Ghanaian socialite Efia Odo is currently causing a lot of stir online.

In a post she made on her X page, Efia Odo called out Stonebwoy, one of the frontrunners for the Artist of the Year award and jabbed him to step aside and let King Promise take the coveted title.

She shockingly described Stonebwoy as an old man who only wants to win the award and become Artist of the Year just because his compatriots, Sarkodie and Stonebwoy have both won the award twice.

The socialite stressed that per the numbers she has seen online, Stonebwoy does not come any close to King Promise and as such, he should give up.

In her post on X, Efia Odo write, “I think it’s cuz Shatta and Sark has won it twice so that means he too he wants it twice (I’ve not mentioned names). The old man should just leave it for the kids cuz it’s evident that numbers don’t lie. If you like let’s compare King Promise’s numbers to others. If doing shows at the stadium is a yardstick, like Fancy Gadam Sef should win AOTY, SIMPLE 😂.”

The competition for the Artist of the Year award is particularly fierce this year, with Stonebwoy and King Promise leading the pack.

Both artists have had an exceptional year, marked by successful releases and significant performances.

However, they are not the only heavyweights in the category. Sarkodie, Black Sherif, and Nacee are also in the running, each bringing their unique contributions to the Ghanaian music scene.
