Ghanaian gospel musician and police officer Kofi Sarpong has reached another major milestone in his career as a police officer.
According to reports zionfelix.net has sighted, he has been promoted from Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) to Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP).
The promotion officially happened on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, when Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Dr. Christian Tetteh Yohuno decorated Kofi Sarpong and 21 other newly promoted officers at the Ghana Police Headquarters.
This latest elevation marks a significant chapter to the remarkable journey of Kofi Sarpong, who has successfully combined a career in the Ghana Police Service with a strong presence in Ghana’s gospel music industry.
Kofi Sarpong’s rise through the ranks of the Police Service has been gradual and notable.
He reportedly joined the service after completing Berekum Senior High School and initially entered as a Constable. He later progressed through the ranks, becoming an Assistant Superintendent of Police, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Superintendent of Police, Chief Superintendent and eventually Assistant Commissioner of Police.
In 2022, he was promoted to the rank of ACP, a development he described at the time as a blessing and the beginning of a new journey.
Now, four years later, he has moved another step higher with his elevation to DCOP.
His police career, however, has developed alongside an equally impressive journey in gospel music.
Congratulations to DCOP Kofi Sarpong on this remarkable achievement.
