Veteran actor and producer Kwaku Twumasi got many eyes rolling with his public admission that in recent times he hardly watches locally produced movies. He made this shocking revelation while speaking at a press conference for “MAD” a yet to be shot movie by veteran actress Mercy Asiedu

It is no secret that the Ghanaian movie industry has suffered a hiatus in recent times. Lots of people, including Mr. Twumasi, who is actually a stalwart in the movie industry have bitterly complained about the problems movie makers keep facing.

Lots of ideas have been suggested for the movie industry to get better. One great suggestion that cuts across is the loyalty and patronage of the public. Ghanaians are constantly asked to patronize local movies in order to boost the industry. It is, therefore, a real shocker for Mr. Twumasi to say he isn’t a fan of the very product he and his colleagues try to push down people’s throats.
