During the 2020 general elections in Ghana, actor Prince David Osei and a host of other entertainers teamed up with the NPP’s Lydia Alhassan, who was then the NPP’s candidate for the Ayawaso West Wuogon Constituency to campaign against their colleague, John Dumelo.

At the time, the likes of Prince David Osei, kalybos, Jeneral Ntatia, Bismark The Joke, and others were branded as people who had betrayed their friendship with John Dumelo to campaign massively against him even though they argued that it was just a case of throwing their support for the candidate of the political party they support.

Well, ahead of the 2024 general election, Prince David Osei has announced that he will not campaign against John Dumelo again this time.

Speaking on Gh One TV’s “Gh Today” social-political show, the award-winning actor mentioned that even though he is still a stunch member of the NPP, in 2024, he will rather campaign for his friend and colleague, John Dumelo to snatch the Ayawaso West Wuogon seat from the hands of the NPP’s Lydia Alhassan.

When asked why the sudden change, Prince David Osei mentioned that the performance of Lydia Alhassan has been abysmal to say the least.

He argued that he had the hope that she was going to work for the good of the Constituency and the electorates there, however, that has not been the case.

Prince David indicated that he has been struggling to even get the MP to offer assistance to some students who work for her to come to power even though it is within her means to offer the support they will need.

The “Last Night” movie actor added that taking into account the issues he had had with Madam Lydia Alhassan, he only feels that it is right he campaigns for his friend he believes can do a better work in the Constituency.
