Rising Ghanaian songstress, iOna has asked a thought-provoking question in her recent interview with Zion Felix on the ‘Uncut Show’.
Known in private life as Abena Onuawonto Sam, iOna was not sure whether Ghana can boast of any female international artiste.
She bemoaned the female musicians in the country are not pushing much to have an international appeal.
The young female musician said she is not seeing much collaborations between her colleagues in the country and other foreign artistes.
iOna asserted that Ghana has a lot of talented female musicians but their exploits outside the country are very low.
She said it will be good if they can find a way to push themselves out there.
iOna’s statement follows Fantana’s assertion that there are only two female international artistes in the country while Wendy Shay and the rest are local champions.
iOna, a professional nurse, who is new in the Ghanaian music scene has high expectations to sell her craft despite the challenges.
