The Head of Public Relations for Ghanaian musician Stonebwoy, Vida Adutwumwaa Boateng, has responded to the ongoing conversation surrounding the arrest of a member of Shatta Wale’s fanbase.

The incident involves a fan known as Web Kid, a supporter of Shatta Movement, who has recently been arrested. Following the development, some social media users speculated that Stonebwoy may have played a role in the arrest, especially after controversial posts about the artiste and his wife began circulating online.

Speaking to ZionFelix on the sidelines of the 27th Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA), Vida objected to the allegations linking Stonebwoy to the matter. She made it clear that such claims do not reflect reality.

She explained that Stonebwoy has no authority to make an arrest, stressing that his work is strictly musical and not legal enforcement. According to her, the arrest in question stemmed from a court directive tied to actions allegedly committed by Web Kid that breached the law.

Vida also pointed out that the fan has been repeatedly disrespecting several individuals online, including Otumfuo Osei Tutu II and other national figures, which she suggested should not be overlooked in the discussion.

She maintained that it is unfair to hold Stonebwoy responsible for the situation.

Responding to a question about a post by Shatta Wale suggesting he could also file a police report if a Stonebwoy supporter behaves similarly, Vida said the musician is free to take any legal steps he deems necessary, adding that criminal matters do not expire over time.
