In a heartwarming revelation on UTV’s United Showbiz show, award-winning Ghanaian gospel sensation Joyce Blessing poured out her gratitude for fellow musician Kuami Eugene, who was the mastermind behind her latest chart-topping single ‘Victory’.
Speaking on the show hosted by MzGee on Saturday, October 14, 2023, Blessing couldn’t contain her admiration for Eugene’s exceptional talent and generosity.
Blessing shared the story of how her collaboration with Kuami Eugene came to be. According to her, it all started when they crossed paths at an event where Kuami Eugene approached Blessing, expressing his desire to compose a song for her.
She added that despite their initial enthusiasm, their busy schedules kept them apart for a significant amount of time. It wasn’t until Kuami Eugene’s return from a successful show in the USA that they finally reunited.
Joyce added that their meeting in the studio for he first time was nothing short of magical after she listened to the song Kuami Eugene had crafted for her.
She disclosed that the lyrics of the song moved her to tears because they resonated deeply with her, mirroring her own life experiences. Overwhelmed with emotion, she embraced Eugene, their hug lasting close to 30 minutes.
Joyce Blessings shockingly added that despite the pivotal role Kuami Eugene played in writing, composing, mixing, and directing the music video for ‘Victory’, Eugene refused to accept any royalties for the song. This act of generosity left Blessing in awe, showcasing not only his talent but also his genuine passion for creating meaningful art.
