Liezer-Legacy Productions, producers of sensational courtroom comedy series Kejetia Vs Makola won big at the Ghana Movie Awards which came off at the Kempinski Gold Coast Hotel in Accra on 31st December 2018.

The cast of the popular series which airs on JoyPrime on MultiTv bagged awards in all the categories they scored nominations in. In all, they won four awards, topping every category the courtroom series was nominated for.

They picked up the Outstanding Comedy Series award beating the likes of Apartment 22 which also airs on Joy Prime, Papa Kumasi on UTV, Ahenfie Court on UTV, Noko Fio on UTV and Pa 2 Pa on UTV. Receiving the award, Louis Lamis, CEO of the company expressed gratitude to Ghanaians for making the show what it is now, stressing that they had no idea they would come this far when they started a few years ago.

Richmond Xavier Amoakoh, who plays Lawyer Nti in the series picked up the award for Lead Actor in a Comedy Series beating Louis Lamis who plays the Judge on the same show, Henry Bentil, Sarfo Clement and Yaw Dabo.

Radio show host Nana Gyasi Owusu, popularly known as NGO, who plays Lawyer Nti’s archnemesis, Barrister Ignatius on the show, also picked up the award for Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series. In that same category, Clement Ashiteye, widely known as Clemento Suarez who plays Lawyer Marcello also got a nod for this award but eventually lost out to Nana Gyasi Owusu.

Last but not least, Jo Ann Sackey who plays A. A Johnson from the Kejetia team of lawyers on the show also picked up the award for Lead Actress in a Comedy Series beating Nana Ama McBrown, Salma Mumin, Aunty Bea and Daniela Okai (Blak).

With the team to pick up the awards was Nana Yaa Sarpong, Channel Manager for Joy Prime TV, who also thanked Ghanaians for voting for them and assured that the best was yet to come.
