Ghanaian actress Kisa Gbekle has talked about her unease with being described as a “baby mama”, saying the label does not align with the future she once pictured for herself.
In an interview on UTV’s Atuu with Nana Romeo, she reflected on her journey into motherhood, explaining that she had always imagined raising children within marriage and still hopes to do so.
“I love children, and I wish to have two or three more when I marry, but not out of wedlock again, because at least I already have one,” she said.
She added that becoming a mother before marriage was never part of her personal plan, noting that life unfolded in ways she did not anticipate.

While she made it clear she does not celebrate having a child outside marriage, she emphasized that motherhood itself is something she values deeply.
“I am not proud to be called a baby mama, because that wasn’t the plan for me before I had a baby. The idea was to be married and have kids, but life offers you things that sometimes you do not want, and you don’t have a choice; you can’t reject them. I am not proud, but I don’t regret being a mother. My baby has moved me from A to Z,” Kisa Gbekle stated.
She also revealed that she is currently single and not actively searching for a relationship, explaining that she often questions what a partner would meaningfully contribute to her life beyond intimacy.
